Morgon 2008

Beaujolais Royal Terroirs range reveals the best vineyards of Beaujolais, where the wines can apply for the ranking as "Cru du Beaujolais". The Morgon cru is located around the village of Villié-Morgon somewhat in the middle of the Beaujolais Cru area. Part of its terroir is made up of decomposed rock and crumbly schist, which makes this area have a special word to describe its taste: "il morgonne".

Rather deep in colour, this wine offers in the first years a sustained, complex nose of fruits, combined with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is quite full bodied, but with some tannins structure, which can allow over 5 years of aging, with then more matured aromas. Each vintage gives also its specific style, of course.

Wine & Food

Morgon is the perfect match for meats, such as terrine of hare, lamb chops with savory, as well as white meats, and cheeses, including goat.

Morgon should be served around 16°C
